 The Alpha Away-Day on 11 June 2011

The Alpha Course meets on Wednesdays from 1 February at St James Church at 12.00 noon.
What is the point of life?
Why do people suffer?
What happens when we die?
Is forgiveness possible?
If you want to know more about the Christian faith, have unanswered questions about it, or
perhaps you're just new in the faith, then Alpha is for you.
What is Alpha?
- The Alpha course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith.
- It's relaxed, low key, friendly and fun.
- There is a meal together at the beginning of each session which gives you an opportunity to get to know others on the course.
- Listen, learn, discuss and discover. And ask anything. Alpha is a place where no question is too simple or too hostile.
What's involved?
The Alpha course consists of a series of talks looking topics such as 'Who is Jesus?' and 'Why and how do I pray?' After each talk we divide into small groups for a time of discussion
Who is Alpha for?
Alpha is for everyone. It is particularly for those who aren't church goers and want to find out more about Christianity. It is for newcomers to the church; those who want to brush up on the basics ... everyone.
What will it cost?
There is no charge for the Alpha course, although you may be asked to make or contribute some food for the meal.
When does it start?
The next Alpha Course will probably take place during Autumn 2011 at St James Church over lunchtime.
Do I need to book
You can just turn up on the night if you like,
but if you send a message to Peter Nunn.
it will help us to know how much food to prepare.
